Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actress and television presenter. She is best known for her role as the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her showbiz career as a child. Her roles included lead characters in television dramas from as early as 16 years old. Her critically acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the role as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, in the commercially and critically popular Oscar nominated historic war drama film Downfall. The other Oscar nominated films featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. In the past, Alexandra was involved in numerous important international and national productions. For instance, the British biographical movie Control, the Greek-language film The Dust of Time, and the French history miniseries Napoleon are among those. Also, she was on the jury at the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
